1 - Gather your materials and tools

  • Fabric; we recommend knit or woven fabrics such as Linen, Chambray, Challis, Crepe or Velvet. We chose Linen. See the image below for quantities.

2 - Print and cut

3 - Cut out the fabric pieces Learn how >

Seam and hem allowances are already included.

 

4 - Label your pieces

For clarity, we made the wrong side of our fabric darker.

 

5 - Sew the cut & sew panel seams

  • Use 1/2 inch seam allowance

  • We chose a plain seam with a straight stitch and finished it with an overcast stitch What should I choose?

 

6 - Create the straps

  • Use 1/4 inch seam allowance

 

7 - Finish the facings

  • Use 1/8 inch hem allowance

  • We chose an overcast stitch

 

8 - Attach the facings & straps

  • Use 1/2 inch seam allowance

  • We chose a plain seam with a straight stitch and finished it with an overcast stitch

 

9 - Sew the side seams

  • Use 1/2 inch seam allowance

  • We chose a plain seam with a straight stitch and finished it with an overcast stitch

 

10 - Hem the slits

  • There is 1/2 inch hem allowance

  • We chose a single-fold hem and finished it with a straight stitch

 

11 - Hem the bottom

  • There is 3/4 inch hem allowance

  • We chose a single-fold hem and finished it with a straight stitch

 

12 - Do a little dance!

Be a pro! Trim any excess thread and allowances, then, give it a good iron.
