Print the pattern
Follow the instructions for your paper size below:
36” x 24” size paper
1 - Open the 36” print file
2 - Print; ensure the settings are:
Paper size = 36” wide
Scale = Actual size (100%)
Layout = Portrait
3 - Measure the Thimball square
If incorrect, adjust the print settings until the square measures correct. If you’re having trouble printing accurately, we recommend using Adobe Acrobat Free Download
A0 size paper
1 - Open the A0 print file
2 - Print page 1; ensure the settings are:
Paper size = A0
Scale = Actual size (100%)
Layout = Portrait
Pages = Page 1 only
3 - Measure the Thimball square

4 - Print the remaining pages
8” x 11.5” size paper
1. Open the 8.5” x 11” print file
2. Print page 1 only, ensure the settings are:
Paper size = 8.5” x 11” (Letter)
Scale = Actual size (100%)
Layout = Portrait
Pages = Page 1 only
3. Measure the Thimball square
If incorrect, adjust the print settings until the square measures correct. If you’re having trouble printing accurately, we recommend using Adobe Acrobat Free Download
4. Print the remaining pages and lay them out as required.
Row 1 = A1, A2, A3…
Row 2 = B1, B2, B3…
Row 3 = C1, C2, C3…
5. Cut out the rectangles on each page
6. Arrange and tape the rectangles together
Match the diamonds along the edges for accurate alignment.
A4 size paper
1. Open the A4 print file
2. Print page 1 only, ensure the settings are:

Layout = Portrait
Pages = Page 1 only

5. Cut out the rectangles on each page
6. Arrange and tape the rectangles together

Gather your materials

Cut out the paper pieces for your size

Cut out the fabric pieces
Seam allowance and hem allowance are already included.

Label your fabric pieces
For clarity, we made the wrong side of our fabric darker.

Sew the bust tie seam
Use 1/4 inch seam allowance
We chose a zigzag stitch
STEP 8
Sew the bust tie seam
Use 1/4 inch seam allowance
We chose a zigzag stitch

Turn the bust tie
Using a safety pin to pull the strap is helpful.
STEP 10
Sew the halter seams
Use 1/4 inch seam allowance
We chose a zigzag stitch
Leave one 2-inch opening and two 1/2-inch openings
STEP 11
Attach the elastics
We chose a zigzag stitch
Cut the elastic to fit the area shown. Do not stretch the elastic while sewing.
STEP 12
Turn the halters
Through the 2-inch opening
STEP 13
Close the openings
We chose a slipstitch
STEP 14
Sew the casing seams
We chose a zigzag stitch 5/8 inch from the edge
STEP 15
Insert the bust tie
Using a safety pin to pull the strap is helpful.
Make a knot on the end of each tie.

Sew the crotch seams
Use 1/4 inch seam allowance
We chose a zigzag stitch
Leave a 1 inch opening
STEP 17
Sew the leg opening elastic seams
Use 1/4 inch seam allowance
We chose a zigzag stitch
Cut the elastic to fit
The elastic is positioned 1/4 inch from the edges
Do not stretch the elastic while sewing
STEP 18
Turn the panty
Right side out
STEP 19
Sew the side seam
Use 1/4 inch seam allowance
We chose a zigzag stitch
STEP 20
Sew the waist elastic seam
Use 1/4 inch seam allowance
We chose a zigzag stitch
Cut the elastic to fit
The elastic is positioned 1/4 inch from the edges
Roll the panty toward the inside
Pull and sew right sides together
Do not stretch the elastic while sewing
STEP 21
Sew the side seam
Use 1/4 inch seam allowance
We chose a zigzag stitch
Pull the side seam through the crotch opening and sew right sides together.
STEP 22
Close the opening
We chose a slipstitch
